Service Could Use a Lift

The location was superb, near outdoor activities and several dining options. The room layout was thoughtfully designed for comfort and convenience.

The room was spacious with a comically large shower, perfect for group showers—should you end up with really close friends! Also, blackout curtains were heavenly for daytime snoozes.

But oh dear, the walls are about as soundproof as a paper bag—snoring and stomping from neighbors kept me on high alert. Who knew I'd be judging their nightly Olympics?

The Double Queen Room was spacious and had a comfortable seating area, making it perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. The gym facilities were a nice surprise and offered a good variety of equipment for a quick workout. Breakfast included fresh fruits and a decent spread that kept us satisfied during our stay.

We went to the Fairfield Inn in Decorah for a night. Our Double Queen Room had a decent layout but definitely lacked cleanliness. There was makeup on one of the pillows, and I found empty candy wrappers under the bed, which was pretty off-putting. The breakfast bar was a letdown. Cold items just sat there, and I had to ask multiple times for coffee—when it finally came, there wasn’t any cream available. The front desk service was anything but quick, and at times I felt the staff was unhelpful. We didn’t have a good impression of customer service during our stay. I won't forget how frustrating it was to wait for basic amenities to be restocked. On the plus side, the location was convenient for visiting family, and it’s close to local shops. But honestly, for the price, I don’t think we’ll stay again. Next time, I’ll seek a better option in Decorah. Overall, the experience was very disappointing.

The front desk staff was helpful. The gym was above average for a place like this. I enjoyed the modern decor throughout the space. The breakfast was excellent, offering unique options. I appreciated the clean and inviting atmosphere. 😊
